What does 350,000 SPU mean?

SPU expresses serrapeptase enzyme activity. It is an activity figure rather than a milligram weight. When comparing labels, check activity per capsule and how many capsules make up a serving. Activity units measured by different methods are not automatically interchangeable. [1]

Does higher activity mean better results?

The label tells you the activity supplied per capsule. It does not demonstrate that a higher dose produces better health outcomes. Published research has not established 350,000 SPU daily as an optimal therapeutic dose.

What does the human research show?

Some short-term clinical studies have reported symptom improvements with serratiopeptidase. A placebo-controlled trial involved 193 people with ear, nose or throat disorders.
